“We had nearly 4 weeks in Canada on our holiday, and all 4 of our kids declared that the Igloo Building adventure was a highlight of their trip. It was definitely a highlight for my husband and me too” – Tracie Deans and family, Australia
Recently featured across the UK on the BBC’s George Clarke’s AMAZING SPACES ‘Snow Special’, this fun day trip igloo experience takes place in the beautiful Coast Mountain Range, just a short drive from Vancouver.
In the mountain parking area you will meet your igloo instructors, who will fit you into your snowshoes, and then guide you a short way onto the mountain where you will build your igloo. Once at your mountainside location, you will listen and learn how to build an igloo. Once you know what you are going to do, igloo building begins and your instructor works with you so that you build and we help. This incredible process takes about two to three hours, at which time you will have built your beautiful igloo. Once built, its time to enjoy some snacks and a warm drink while passing skiers stop to admire your fine craft.
A once in a lifetime iconic Canadian experience!

TAKE PART IN YOUR OWN OCEAN HARVEST. GATHER A FEAST OF FOOD FROM THE LOCAL TOFINO WATERS. ENJOY A GOURMET BANQUET OF YOUR CATCH PREPARED BY YOUR PRIVATE CHEF
Ocean Harvest gives you the opportunity to get your hands wet, by harvesting the abundance of the ocean yourself, culminating is a feast created with the food you have gathered. The night before this trip we go out and put down the crab traps and shrimp nets. In the morning you step into your private craft with legendary Skipper Ken Thomson and head off for a day as a ‘hunter gatherer’!
As you leave Tofino your First Nations diver harvests scallops and sea urchin, explaining these wonderful creatures to you on the rear viewing deck. Further out you pull up the shrimp nets and crab traps and retrieve your catch, learning how to humanely kill the crab and gather the ocean fresh shrimp. Out on the great and historic inlets where Captain Cook roamed the seas, and under Skipper Ken’s guidance, you fish for salmon or halibut and haul in the catch onto the deck, where you learn the fine art of using a ‘fish bonker’. Depending on the tides, you then gather mussels and oysters right from the sea lapping rocks. At a special remote landing spot, your gourmet chef prepares the days catch for a true west coast banquet of the food you have harvested, replete with fine wines and time to tell stories beneath the evening skies. Dessert is either served at dinner or on the boat with champagne as you return to Tofino.

VISIT AN INCREDIBLE FLOATING ISLAND NESTLED IN A RUGGED COASTAL INLET NEAR TOFINO.
Quoit Bay is home to a beautiful and absolutely unforgettable manmade floating island created by its current true pioneer family. Totally self sufficient, the island has a full vegetable garden and a full flower garden plus a pond, waterfall, and fresh water supply. It comprises two Hobbit houses for Wayne and Katherine and their family, and truly has to be seen to be believed. This is probably one of the last truly pioneer residences on the coast and the simple and beautiful life lived here is wonderful to witness. After your 45 minute boat trip in a private covered craft with rear viewing deck up historic inlets where memories of Captain Cook abound, you arrive at the hidden bay which is home to the floating island. You will be welcomed by the hosts, who will guide you through their amazing home and the world they have created. This place is a true gem. Depending upon the weather, dinner will either be prepared on their dock or on board during the return to Tofino.
